April 20, 2016 - Chronic Wasting Disease

Please be aware that this is occurring in the State of Arkansas.  It has yet to be determined if it is occurring here in Lakeview, but observe the poster to see the descriptions of the disease and the contact number.  When we have the Uban Deer Hunt in the Fall the deer will be examined prior to consumption.  If you observe a deer on the roadside that has been hit by a vehicle, notify the commission at the number noted on the poster so that they can test it for the disease....

December 15, 2015 - New Police Vehicle

If you ever get arrested this is going to be the vehicle in which you will want to ride.  It is air conditioned in the rear seat!!  Most police vehicles do not have separate heat/cooling conditions for the partitioned rear seat of the vehicles.  THIS one does!  Sorry to say for people breaking the rules, but it has cameras, computer, etc.  What you say and do is recorded not only by the vehicle, but by the body cameras our officers wear.  We may be a small town, but...

November 18, 2015 - Bull Shoals Dam Future Work

Tracy King, Suiperintendent of Bull Shoals-White River State Park, advised Chief Hotchkiss that he had received a call from Steve Hernandez,Powerhouse Superintendent, that starting November 30, 2015 the dam will have construction work done on the tainter gates (flood gates) which will take approximately two years.  This means that there will be one lane traffic during this period, plus the complete shutdown of traffic acoss the dam every 30-45 days for up to two days starting December 1st a...
