ACTIVITIES AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER
Numerous clubs and organizations meet at the Lloyd Travis Municipal Center:
Ozark Woodturners - meet every third Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm. Contact Ron Utkes, President, 870-507-0007 or Darcie Didden, V.P.
Exercise Classes - Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings at 8:00 am.
Cards - Tuesdays - Single deck Pinochle - mixed 12:30 to 4 pm, Thursdays - Mah Jong 12:30 to 4 pm, Fridays - Double Deck Pinochle - mixed 12:30 to 4 pm.
Coast Guard Auxiliary - Regular meetings of the Twin Lakes Flotilla are held the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9 am.
Woodcarvers Club - Meeting every Thursday evening from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Lakeview Community Club - Meeting the first Monday of the Month from 3 pm to 8 pm. Pot Luck dinners are held at 6 pm with a guest speaker. Contact Sharon Hoffmeier at (870) 656-4775.
The combination municipal facility and civic center, remodeled in 2006, is often put to use by the community. Groups and individuals regularly use the community room for meetings and seminars.
Lakeview residents may reserve the room at no charge . Non-residents may also reserve the room but fees do apply. $100 including the kitchen. $50 for the civic center without kitchen usage.
Artists of Lakeview and surrounding areas may display their wall art in the Civic Center. The paintings are hung by city staff but are labeled with identification and pricing by the artists. Anyone wishing to purchase the art contacts the artist directly. Artists wishing to display paintings can leave them with the Recorder-Treasurer Kim Wallace during office hours.
The City Park adjacent to the the Municipal Center has a pavilion which is used throughout the late spring, summer, and early fall for family reunions and other events by individuals, groups and clubs who want a nice facility with grills, gardens, a walking trail, shade, tables, benches and clean restrooms.
The park rental fee is $100 for each day or part of a day. Rental fees do not apply to Lakeview residents. Fees must be paid before the scheduled event.
